Dr. Andrew Rosen received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then returned to his home state for medical school at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine. He completed general surgery internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Rosen became a Sports Medicine and Knee Reconstruction fellow at the Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center, finishing in 2002.

Dr. Rosen is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has attained Subspeciality Board Certification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters. Dr. Rosen has given talks and presented papers at medical educational conferences.

Dr. Rosen himself is an active runner, participating in numerous races including marathons. He uses his personal knowledge of training and racing to provide treatment to professional elite runners and athletes of all levels with running-related injuries and training problems. Dr. Rosen is a member of the New York Road Runners medical staff and functions as the Medical Team Leader for the Professional Elite Runners for the TCS New York City Marathon. He volunteers on the medical event teams for many NYRR races annually. He also lectures regularly to numerous groups on running-related injuries and their management.

Dr. Rosen is a specialist in performing advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures of the knee and shoulder. Using arthroscopic techniques, Dr. Rosen completes operations through tiny cuts on an outpatient basis that once required large incisions and hospital stays. He also teaches as a Clinical Instructor in the Mount Sinai Medical Center Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
